Pegasus Astro Orbit Diagonal SCT Edge Edition

The Pegasus Astro Orbit is a modular 1.25" rotating diagonal designed for optical systems with very limited backfocus, such as the Pegasus SmartEye. The SCT Edge Edition is made for Celestron EdgeHD telescopes and accessories with a 3.25" thread, and features a variable neck for fine tuning of the optical path.

Compact 1.25" Optical Design

Bulky 2" diagonals often push the focal plane out of reach. Thanks to its ultra-short optical path, the Orbit lets your telescope reach focus with SmartEye and other compact cameras, while still fully illuminating sensors such as the IMX533 with zero vignetting.

High Quality Mirror

The diagonal uses a BK7 first-surface mirror with lambda/10 surface accuracy at 633 nm and an enhanced aluminium coating with protective overcoat, offering an average reflectivity of 92% or more in the 450-650 nm range.

Dual-Axis Rotation

Two tactile thumb screws allow independent rotation of the nosepiece side and the SmartEye side, so you always have a comfortable viewing position regardless of the orientation of your telescope.

Direct SCT Edge Coupling

The SCT Edge Edition is designed for telescopes and accessories with a 3.25" threaded visual back, such as Celestron EdgeHD Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes and the Celestron 0.7x reducer. The 3.25" threaded connection is rigid and tilt-free, even under heavy loads.

Precision Variable Neck

An integrated adjustable neck with 20 mm of travel lets you fine-tune the optical path length without stacking fixed spacers. Once the right distance is set, the neck locks securely for a rigid and repeatable setup.

Optimized Backfocus

The diagonal is engineered to help you meet the 146 mm backfocus requirement of EdgeHD optics, which is critical for flat fields and round stars across the frame.

Universal Threading

The SmartEye side keeps the dual-thread design with M48 male and M42 female threads, so you can connect the diagonal directly to spacers, cameras or custom adapters. SmartEye attaches using the included M54M-M48F adapter.

Integrated Filter Thread

A thread on the top side accepts standard 1.25" filters, a cost-effective alternative to 2" filters.
