Pegasus Astro Pocket Powerbox Advance Gen3

The Pegasus Astro Pocket Powerbox Advance Gen3 is an all-in-one power and connectivity hub for portable astrophotography setups. In an ultra-compact aluminium enclosure it combines intelligent 12V power distribution, a USB3 hub, dual dew heater outputs and a built-in stepper motor focus controller.

Intelligent Power Distribution

Four individually switchable 12V DC outputs and one always-on 12V output power your cameras, mount and accessories, with up to 14 Amps of total current. A dedicated adjustable output (3-19V, up to 3A) is configured from the software and keeps its voltage across power cycles, perfect for mini PCs, Intel NUCs or mirrorless cameras. Built-in meters report input voltage, current and power statistics.

Built-in 6 Port USB Hub

A powered hub at the back of the device provides 4 x USB3 SuperSpeed ports (Type-A) and 2 x USB2 ports (Type-C). Each port can be enabled or disabled from the software and delivers up to 3A, and all ports include surge and ESD protection. The SuperSpeed hub runs in parallel with the USB 2.0 controller, so 5 Gbps transfers are not slowed down by USB 2.0 traffic. A USB-C port provides Power Delivery output to supported devices.

Integrated Focus Controller

The built-in stepper motor controller eliminates the need for a separate focuser controller and reduces cable clutter. It works with most bipolar stepper motors up to 1.5A per coil. It supports automated focusing routines in all popular imaging applications.

Automatic Dew Control

Two PWM outputs power your dew heaters, and their power level can be adjusted from the software. Enable the Auto function and the controller uses the dew point reading from the included environmental sensor to decide when to turn on the heaters and how much power to give them.

Standalone Operation

The Pocket Powerbox Advance works out of the box as a standalone device. Set it up once and it restores your settings every time it boots, so you do not need to connect a PC each time you observe.

Wi-Fi, Web Dashboard and ASCOM Alpaca

Built-in Wi-Fi with an external antenna and a browser-based dashboard let you control the device from any phone, tablet or computer, with no dedicated software required. Full ASCOM 7 and ASCOM Alpaca support (switches, observing conditions and focuser) allows direct connection with N.I.N.A. and other Alpaca compatible software, and the INDI framework is also supported.

Protection and Build Quality

Reverse polarity and overvoltage protection (up to 50V) safeguard your equipment against incorrect power connections. The electronics are housed in a sturdy blue anodized aluminium enclosure with M3 blind mounting holes for accessories. Firmware can be upgraded via USB or the web dashboard.
