Takahashi offers heavy columns for stationary installation for its mounts. For the EM-11 or EM-200 there are three different heights, the low SE-S is e.g. good for a Newton, the very high SE-LL for long instruments like the FS-152 on the EM-200. Besides the high stability, the big advantage of columns is that the tube can be swung through freely, even with longer instruments or far overhanging accessories there is no bumping at a tripod leg.

The mount can still be removed from the column without tools, the upper flange is clamped with clamping levers on a cone. Here you also make the coarse azimuth adjustment, the fine adjustment is then made as usual on the mount itself.
