MAGUS SFR2 2.5х/0.07 Plan L Pol ∞/- Objective


The objective is designed for studies in transmitted and reflected polarized light. The special optics of the strain-free polarizing objective ensure that the birefringence comes from the sample and not the optical elements.


The resolution limit of the 2.5х/0.07 objective is 3.92µm.
Chromatic aberrations are corrected for blue and red light, spherical aberration for green light, and field curvature corrected to 90% of the field of view diameter.


The objective is infinity-corrected. The parfocal distance is 45mm. When working with a 10x/22mm eyepiece, the field of view diameter will be 8.8mm.

The large field of view ensures a quick view of the entire sample and simplifies the search for the desired area of study. In petrographic research, selecting eyepieces with different fields of view enables you to determine the approximate size of medium 1–5 mm and large 5–10 mm mineral grains without the use of additional devices.
The objective is designed to work with samples with or without a cover glass.


The lower limit of useful microscope magnification when working with a 2.5х objective is 35x. A lower magnification will not enable you to distinguish the details of the object in the image produced by the objective.
The upper limit of useful magnification when working with the 2.5х objective is 70x. Higher magnification is considered “useless” because it does not provide new detail in the image of the object.
With a 2.5x/0.07 objective, use eyepieces with magnifications from 10x to 25x.


Plan achromatic objectives produce an image equally focused on the center and at the edges with minimal distortion. This feature is used for taking digital images and for working in conjunction with wide-field eyepieces with a 22mm field of view.
