Skyline PLUS 8" (200/1200) Dobsonian Telescope
Features:
Designed for deep-sky and planetary observation, the Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 8" Dobsonian telescope delivers its best performance under truly dark skies. It is the ideal companion for stargazing trips to the countryside or nights at a remote home, where its large aperture can reveal the most from the cosmos. This telescope allows you to go beyond simply finding objects to studying their fascinating details. You will be able to resolve lunar craters just 2km across, discern spokes in Saturn’s rings, track clouds and dust storms on Mars, and see Jupiter’s four largest moons not as mere points of light, but as tiny, resolved discs. It can show intricate structures within nebulae and galaxies, transforming globular clusters from fuzzy patches into fields of distinct stars. The telescope's capabilities are highly appreciated by beginners just starting to explore the universe and by experienced observers who are already proficient with observational instruments.
The Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 8" telescope features an aperture of 204mm and a focal length of 1200mm. Its optical elements are made of BK-7 glass, which is prized for its high homogeneity and purity. The primary mirror has a parabolic shape. This helps to effectively gather light rays, correct spherical aberration, and deliver a sharp, pristine image. With aluminum coatings providing 92–95% reflectivity, the mirrors deliver bright, high-contrast images. This ensures high system performance and aids in observing very distant, faint, or low-reflectivity objects. The aluminum coatings perform well across a broad spectral range, from ultraviolet to infrared, making them well-suited for a wide variety of astronomical observations. The focuser accepts accessories with either a 2" or a 1.25" barrel diameter.
The telescope is mounted on a sturdy, manually operated Dobsonian mount made of high-quality finished wood. For optimal performance, the telescope is recommended for use within a temperature range of −5°C to +35°C. The Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 8" comes with essential accessories: two Plössl eyepieces (10mm and 25mm, 1.25") and a red dot finder.
