Skyline PRO 12" (300/1525) Retractable Dobsonian Telescope
Features:
The Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 12" Dobsonian telescope is a serious instrument for detailed observation, from the Moon and planets to deep-sky wonders like nebulae, galaxies, and globular clusters.
Its 304mm aperture and 1525mm focal length provide exceptional light-gathering capability and resolving power. The telescope’s internal optical design uses BK-7 glass elements. This material is widely valued in the optical industry for its homogeneity and mechanical strength. The primary and secondary mirrors are coated with aluminum and that increases their reflectivity to 92–95%. The parabolic primary mirror corrects spherical aberration by perfectly focusing all the light onto a single point, ensuring sharp images across the entire field of view. As a Newtonian reflector, this optical system is completely free from chromatic aberration, delivering consistently crisp views with true color rendition.
Designed for portability, the telescope uses an open-truss tube system. It assembles quickly from sturdy components and stores in minimal space when disassembled. The OTA is mounted on a Dobsonian base. This mount is stable, robust, and built to last, making the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 12" straightforward and intuitive to operate. The mount is made of processed wood, weighs 16.5kg itself, and easily supports the substantial weight of the large optical tube (20.5kg). The telescope package includes all the accessories you need to start observing right out of the box: an 8x40 optical finderscope, a cooling fan for primary mirror, two Plössl eyepieces (10mm and 25mm, 1.25"), and a protective shroud to shield the OTA components from dust and wind.
The telescope is designed for use in temperatures ranging from −5°C to +35°C. The best observing results are achieved under clear atmospheric conditions on cloudless nights. For optimal performance, allow 1.5 to 3 hours for the optical system to thermally acclimate to outdoor conditions before observing, especially when not using the cooling fan.
