Levenhuk New Skyline BASE 70/500 AZ2 Telescope
Features:
The Levenhuk New Skyline BASE 70/500 AZ2 is a compact achromatic refractor telescope with a 70mm aperture and a 500mm focal length that is designed for kids and beginner stargazers. Its small size makes it a great travel companion for weekend getaways, and the colorful packaging means that it is ready to be given as a gift for any occasion.
Large-aperture optics
The 70mm objective lens gathers plenty of light, delivering bright and sharp views. Fully multi-coated optics ensure high light transmission. Through this telescope, you can explore lunar craters, the polar ice caps on Mars, the phases of Venus, Saturn’s rings, and Jupiter. Planets at the edge of the Solar System will appear as points of light, visible only under perfect conditions.
The kit includes two eyepieces with focal lengths of 10mm (50x) and 25mm (20x), which provide high-quality views at low and high magnifications. A 2x Barlow lens lets you double the magnification of either eyepiece. The diagonal mirror makes terrestrial viewing more comfortable, delivering an upright but mirror-reversed image. A 6x24 optical finderscope helps you locate stars and planets quickly.
Lightweight alt-azimuth mount
The telescope is mounted on an AZ2 mount. It’s one of the simplest systems to use and requires no special knowledge. The adjustable tripod legs can be set to match the observer’s height.
Additional features
The telescope features a standard T-thread. This is a nice bonus if you want to try astrophotography. With an optional adapter ring, you can attach a DSLR camera and start capturing shots of the Moon, planets, or landscapes through the telescope.
