Pegasus Astro Indigo OAG Premium with Helical Focuser

The Pegasus Astro Indigo OAG is a thin and rigid off-axis guider that bonds directly with the Indigo Filter Wheel and the latest CMOS cameras. The Premium version comes with a pre-installed helical focuser for precise focusing of standard 1.25" guide cameras.

Quick Overview

  • Off-axis guiding through the same optical path as your imaging camera
  • Pre-installed helical focuser for 1.25" guide cameras
  • Thin 10 mm body, solid enough for heavy imaging trains
  • 53.5 mm clear aperture
  • 62 mm through-hole pattern (M2 and M3) for direct camera and filter wheel connection
  • Mounts directly onto the Indigo Filter Wheel
  • Telescope and camera adapters included for standalone use

Why an Off-Axis Guider

An OAG uses the same optical path as your main imaging camera. This eliminates differential flexure, a common problem when guiding with a separate guide scope mounted on top of the main telescope, and results in more accurate guiding and rounder stars in long exposures.

Helical Focuser

The Premium package includes a pre-installed helical focuser that lets you bring your guide camera to precise focus. It is compatible with the 1.25" guiding cameras commonly available on the market.

Thin and Solid Design

With a thickness of only 10 mm, the Indigo OAG leaves plenty of backfocus for the rest of your imaging train, while its solid construction supports heavy imaging equipment. The clear aperture is 53.5 mm.

Direct Connection

The body supports the 62 mm through-hole pattern with M2 and M3 holes for direct connection with the latest CMOS cameras and filter wheels. Three screws let the telescope adapter slide inside slots, so you can adjust the orientation and framing of your image train.

Indigo Filter Wheel Combination

The Indigo OAG can be mounted directly onto the Indigo Filter Wheel, creating a compact guiding and filter assembly with a total optical distance of 33 mm. With the included M54F telescope adapter and M48F camera adapter it can also be used as a standalone OAG, and it connects with the Falcon v2 rotator.

Telescope Connection

The diagram below shows the possible connection configurations of the Indigo OAG between telescope and camera, as a standalone OAG or combined with a filter wheel, together with the thickness of the adapters.

Connection with Falcon v2 Rotator

The Indigo OAG can also be used together with the Pegasus Astro Falcon v2 rotator. The diagram below shows how the two are connected in the imaging train.
