0.5x Reducer - 2" - for visual observation & photography - focal reduction

The TS Optics 0.5x focal reducer reduces the focal length by 50% and doubles the field of view. This advantage can be used visual and also photographically.

The adaptation:

The reducer is easily screwed into the 2" filter thread of a photo adapter or an eyepiece.
 
Photographical applications:

Please consider that the TS Reducer does not correct image distortions like coma, field curvature or astigmatism. Newtonian coma will even be increased by the wider field.
 
For which telescopes is the Red 0.5x 2" suitable?

Prerequsition is that your telescope accepts 2" accessories. Good are refractors with long focal length, Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain systems.
At Newtonians, the reducer will increase coma so that we do not recommend it for systems faster than f/6.

Visual observations:

This is also possible.
You can use all 1.25" eyepieces. For adaptation, screw the reducer into the 2" filter thread of the 2/1.25" adaptor.
At 2" eyepieces, you can use the reducer directly for models with max. field stop diameter of approx. 40mm. Bigger eyepieces will show vignetting.
