PROJECTION ADAPTER FOR 1.25" EYEPIECES

TS projection adapter for 1.25" eyepieces - Telescope connection: 1.25" nosepiece

Extends the focal length of your telescope. Suitable for 1.25" eyepieces up to 38 mm outer diameter To capture lunar craters and planets, the aperture ratio of the telescope has to be raised to approx. f/20 - f/30. A probate means to achieve this is eyepiece (afocal) projection. This TS adapter turns your 1.25" eyepiece into a powerful projection eyepiece.

Advantages of the TS OPAD system:

• Consist of standard parts that can also be used for other purposes
• All 1.25" eyepieces up to 38 mm O.D. can be used
• Projection distance can be varied by using additional T2 spacers
• Camera connection by the common T-thread (M42x0.75)
• Compact and DSLR cameras can be used with suitable adapters

Equipping the adapter with an eyepiece is easy:

The OPAD´s heart is a base adapter with T-thread on both ends. The eyepiece is installed here and is locked by two thumbscrews for perfect centering on the optica axis. Then, screw the T2 spacers above the eyepiece and you´re ready to start!

Camera adaptation:

• DSLR cameras use one of the T-rings listed on the accessories section
• Compact digital cameras with fixed lens use the TSM54a-T2i adapter. From this filter thread, adapters to the filter thread of your lens are available.

Which eyepieces are recommended for projection?

DSLR camera bodies use eyepieces from approx. 6 through 15 mm. A good Ortho, Plössl or moderate wide angle is best. Ultra wide angle eyepieces are not recommended because of their distortions.

For compact cameras with fixed lens, we recommend eyepieces with large eye lens and a focal length of approx. 20-25 mm. It should be brought as close a possible to the camera´s lens.

The TS OPAD system consists of:

• 1.25" to T2 adapter
• T2 eyepiece holder with brass compression ring
• 40 mm T2 extension
• 20 mm T2 extension

All pieces can also be used individually and can be combined with the rest of our T2 system.
