The Acuter Solarus-80 is an 80 mm solar telescope with a secure, permanently mounted white light solar filter made of glass.
Designed for safe white light solar observation of sunspots, solar eclipses, solar surface details and the transit of the inner planets across the Sun.
It incorporates a rotating filter wheel with pre-installed filters for viewing the Sun in different colors. It also features a smartphone camera adapter for taking pictures with your smartphone.
The kit includes an innovative Auto-Tracking Solar Go-To/Auto-Tracking Mount. This ingenious mount is easy to use and provides a safe experience for automatically locating and observing the sun with your telescope. Level the tripod and point the solar telescope to any point to the left of the sun, and let Solar Alignment Technology automatically do the rest!
With the push of a button, the telescope will automatically level itself and the mount, by locking in GPS data, will calculate the altitude of the sun based on time and location. The telescope will then point to the correct altitude and the mount will rotate clockwise looking for the Sun. The solar sensor will detect the Sun, lock onto it and silently track it as it moves across the sky, keeping it within the eyepiece's field of view.
The Acuter Solarus-80 solar telescope and self-tracking solar mount assembly can be used by educational facilities, beginners and experienced observers alike.
The Acuter Solarus-80 meets the transmission requirements of ISO 12312-2:2015 (Filters for direct observation of the Sun). Always use it according to the instructions.
