Skywatcher 127 mm (5") F/1500 Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope Tube

The Skymax 127 is a compact and poweful telescope for planetary and deep-sky observing, but it can also be used very well for daytime viewing and photography. With 127 mm aperture, the telescope gathers over 60% more light than a refractor with 100 mm aperture. At the same time, it is still very portable. The tube is only 330 mm long, despite the remarkable focal length of 1500 mm. It can easily be carried by compact equatorial and alt-azimuth mounts.

The Skywatcher Skymax 127 Maksutov is a universally usable telescope:

• Astronomical observations: On moon and planets, the Maksutov shows very good performance, due to the sharp, high-contrast optics. But 127 mm aperture gather enough light to capture nebulae, star clusters and galaxies.
• Spotting scope for nature viewing: The Maksutov shows a sharp and contrasty image also at daytime. Especialy birdwatchers and nature lovers who attach importance to a bright image at higher magnification will be enthusiastic about this Maksutov telescope. For use as spotting scope, we recommend an Amici prism with 45° deflection angle.
• Photography: The Maksutov comes with an integrated T2-connector which allows to attach cameras. With this, a powerful extreme telephoto lens with 1540 mm focal length and fixed speed of f/11.8 is at your disposal.
