TS-Optics PHOTOLINE 80mm f/6 FPL53 Triplet APO - 2.5" RAP Focuser

A highly corrected, fast apochromat. Its compact dimensions make it a perfect travelling telescope - also ideal for astrophotography.

♦ Aperture 80 mm

♦ Focal length 480 mm / focal Ratio f/6

♦ Triplet with FPL53 element - no false color

♦ Tube made out of quickly cooling aluminum

♦ Internal baffles

♦ One of the best 2,5" focusers in its class - plain bearing mounted draw tube - adjustment by rack and pinion - designed for high payload

♦ 2" receptacle and female M68x1 thread for screwed adaptions can be used

♦ Dew cap retractable for easy transportation - a very fine travel telescope with only 3 kg weight and 37.5 centimetres transport length

A perfect travelling apochromat - for observation and astrophotography.

Under the lead management of Teleskop-Service, this high-quality Photoline triplet apo with FPL53 element from Ohara (Japan) came to life as optimal travelling apochromat.

Even at higher magnification, the image has no annoying chromatic error, with excellent correction at the same time. It is one of the best and fastest 80 mm apos we have seen. The fast focal ratio of f/6 not only keeps the refractor very short, it also provides short exposure times for astrophotography.

Best mechanics ensure an excellent image quality over years and success in astrophotography

Even the best optics can be used successfully only if the mechanics is right. Here, savings were often made in the wrong place. This is not the case for the Photoline 80 mm f/6 apo.

The advantages and features at a glimpse:♦ Rack-and-pinion focuser, plain bearing mounted. The support is decoupled from the drawtube drive.
♦ Oversized drawtube with 60 mm clear aperture for full illumination even if full-frame sensors are used.
♦ 1:10 dual speed system for ultra-precise focusing
♦ High-quality CNC tube with internal baffling and very good internal blackening - no annoying stray light
♦ M68x1 thread (female) allows for screwed and thus stable adaptions for astrophotography
♦ Retractable dewcap - only 37.5 cm transportation length
♦ Modern and multi-coated 3-element lens with FPL53 as APO element
♦ High-quality CNC rings and GP style dovetail bar with photo thread connection
♦ Each ring has 3 M6 threads (female) on top side, one of them in the middle, two in 30 mm distance at the side
♦ Findershoe is mounted

Visual use - spotting scope and astronomical travel telescope

The TLAPO804 can be configured with a star diagonal mirror, eyepiece and finder to form a lightweight telescope for travel, and a long-focus wide-angle eyepiece can be used instead of the finder.

If an Amici prism is used instead of the zenith mirror, you get a spotting scope for landscape or bird watching. We recommend a zoom eyepiece, as it is more convenient and its field stop will usually not be larger than the clear aperture of the Amici prism, thus avoiding vignetting.

Photographic use - one telescope, two focal lengths

The Photoline f/6 apo is suitable for astrophotography without restrictions, but, as with any fast refractor, the field has to be corrected for keeping the stars nicely round even at the edge. For this, we offer the following options which are linked in the accessories section.

♦ TSFlat2 - universal 2" field corrector without change of the focal length: The corrector is directly inserted into the receptacle and locked with the adapter kit. The working distance is 123 mm from the M48 thread of the corrector. With the TSFlat2A, we can supply a complete adaption to your camera. We recommend the TSFlat2 for cameras with sensor sizes up to APS-C format.

♦ TSRed279 - 2" Photoline reducer and corrector: The 0.79x corrector reduces the focal length of the apochromat to 379 mm and increases the speed from f/6 to f/4.74. The reducer is directly clamped by the 2" receptacle. The working distance from the T2-thread is 61 mm. We recommend the reducer for cameras up to APS-C sensors. For the adaption to a DSLR camera, you can need (for example):
♦ TST2V5 (5 mm T2 extension ring)
♦ T2AbstimmA1 (1 mm fine tuning ring)

♦ TSRed379 - 3" Photoline reducer and corrector: This 0.79x corrector also reduces the focal length to 379 mm and increases the speed to f/4.74. The working distance from the M48 thread is 61 mm. The reducer is screwed to the M68 thread. We recommend the reducer for CCD cameras with larger sensors and for DSLR cameras with full-frame sensors.
