The 0.5x auxiliary objective lens increases the working distance and field of view of a stereoscopic microscope, while reducing the overall magnification of the microscope.
Soldering, engraving, dissection, and any manipulation using tools require a long working distance, large field of view, and low magnification. The 0.5x auxiliary objective lens makes these jobs much more comfortable.
The auxiliary lens is screwed onto the objective cap.
