HPS stands for High Precision and Speed and the mount is an advancement of the known GM 2000 QCI of 10Micron with the same proven mechanics, however, less load-carrying capacity than this - and with it highly transportable

The GM 1000 HPS reaches a Satellite tracking and positioning speed from 20 degrees / sek. with an average positioning accuracy <20" and a tracking accuracy of approx. 1"/15min (peak to peak).

The new GM 1000 HPS disposes, in addition, of high-precision Absolut-Encoder on both axes which opens absolutely new possibilities. The mount never losesits orientation, even if one axis is shifted by hand. Also after a power failure no new Alignment is necessary. In the mobile company the mount is quicker and easier to instal and to align than any conventional equatorial mount.

10micron has modernized the well proven parallactic / equatorial mount. By "Dual Axis Tracking", small errors in the polar axis and other disturbing parameters, such as deflection of the telescope tube, are compensated fully automatically during tracking.

HPS Features

HPS stands for High Precision and Speed and the mount is a further development of the known GM2000 QCI of 10micron with the same proven mechanics but less capacity than this – and thus easier to transport.

MECHANICS

FIRMWARE

  • Powerful firmware featuring advanced mount modeling, with several parameters computation (refraction, optical/mechanical flexures, leap second, mount orientation, object motion, clock synchronization, temperature etc.) and special functions (dual tracking, assisted polar alignment procedure etc.): the only way for perfect unguided tracking during long exposures (up to 0.6" RMS accuracy).
  • Intuitively operated system, proprietary motor controller with temperature compensated clock, onboard industrial grade Linux computer – intelligence built-in.
  • No external PC or laptop mandatory in the field – all functions in the onboard computer can be operated via stand-alone hand control unit (Keypad).
